Great wee product and cheap too at the moment with xplosiv.
Tastes brilliant in vanilla cake.
Packaging stands out from all the rest.
Will buy again and recommend to others.
Cannot fault this whey protein, it tastes really nice (chocolate fudge cake) is 70.5% protein which is higher than most of the popular brands which usually sit at 64%. Mixes properly, but more importantly goes well with cereal. Would happily buy again since it is prices well vs other products and delivers the same if not better.
Nice taste and mixibility- points here.
24g Protein but only 2g Carbs- thats amazing!
But here's where the big points kick in-
Practically $1 per serve when you get the 10LB bag!
That's unheard of for a lean 100% Whey.
Had a previous review, but have bumped it up purely because of value for money and the fact I heard it isn't spiked to badly.. (apparently they're getting offical tests as the additives are done for texture I believe.)
Taste is okay, macro nutrients arn't bad either.. But the game changing aspect is the price.. $139.00 for 4.5KG is amazing.
The smell was divine and decadent. Taste wise was a bit of a let down in comparison, however while not overly sweet, was perfectly skullable.
Just a half a shaker of water here, 1 scoop of whey, mixed up really well (no steel ball)
At a glance the 'big 3' look pretty enticing. 24g Protein, under 2g Carb, and 2g Fat. Leads me to think there are artificial flavours here that will cause a bit of belly upset after prolonged use perhaps, as I am experiencing with Giant Sports Delicious protein (wife can vouch for that one.. yukk)
At only 120 calories per serve it rocks in 30 less than most of the other wheys I've used of late, which actually really impressed me.
Macro-wise it looks fairly solid, and the real clincher here is the lower calorie count for me. Could be good for people on a cut. However there does seem to be glycine, taurine, and leucine here which tap into the 24g protein so I'd say you'd be getting around 20g per serve after all of that. No creatine which is one of the worst offenders.
Thanks xplosiv / supplementreviews.co.nz for the sample!!
Used post-workout with 200ml water
For mix-ability it mixes fine, as for taste I'm not a huge fan of the chocolate as for the formula vs price I'm not to impressed.
The Product Description Reads................
ProSupps™ has formulated a REAL and TRUE WHEY PROTEIN that is what we say it is. No cheap protein fillers…just good ol’ fashioned whey proteins that do what they are supposed to do…
Based on that..
What is this???
Protein Matrix (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate), Amino Acid Complex >>>>(L-GLYCINE, TAURINE)<<<<
seems very cheeky.
Mixes extremely well, just a little thin for my liking. Tastes little in the way of chocolatey flavour but very nice and creamy. Used water, but with low fat milk, oats or a thickener I would of enjoyed it more. High level of protein with some ammio acids added.
Only tried the one sample, unsure of the price etc.....For me however I would find this hard to compete with something like Delicious. However there was something about this protein that reminded me about NAR LAB's. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
So a solid 7 for me.
Thanks xplosiv for the sample and Steph for getting it out so quick.
The taste and consistency of this is really nice. It's let down hugely however by it's ingredients! When there's so many decently priced proteins out there that taste nice and don't amino spike/contain useless fillers, this would have to be very well priced for me to even consider it.
If you don't mind amino spiking/fillers and just want something that tastes nice and has a good, not thick consistency, this is a decent choice.
Im a big fan of chocolate and even bigger fan of really sweet chocolate flavour. Pro supps does well in creating a very enjoyable mild chocolate milk flavour.
Mixed half with oats half in a shaker with water.
Shaker= no clumps and a very smooth texture.
Mixed well with oats too.
Macronutrient profile is pretty good, a very typical profile for a standard whey protein: 2 fat, 2 carbs, 24 protein totalling 120 calories.
However there are signs of amino spiking through the amino acid complex. This could be an issue if they are claiming the amino's to be supplys of protein. However if you are taking in a variety of other protein sources daily, its not a huge deal. But marked down nether the less.
Good flavour, texture and macros. Marked down for signs of possible signs of amino spiking.
But has spiking.
What's more important to you when buying Whey??
Drinking a milkshake
Or getting protein for gains?
Only you can answer that
This is a really nice tasting whey. Profile is OK not the worst by far.
Would definitely buy when it is available.
